Male Breast Reduction

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia, the over-development of breast tissue in males, affects roughly 40 to 60 percent of men. A male breast reduction involves removal of fat, tissue, and sometimes skin, to create a flatter, firmer chest. Liposuction may be performed in conjunction with a male breast reduction, for additional contouring. This procedure is performed at Renaissance Plastic Surgery under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Patients will wear a compression vest for 6 weeks, and may also have drains which are in for about a week.

Sutures are removed in 2 weeks. Activity limitations are to not use the chest as a shelf or press objects against the chest for 6 weeks.
