Liposuction

Lipoplasty

Liposuction is an appropriate treatment option for localized areas of fat that become disproportionate with other areas of the body. Liposuction can be performed on almost any area of the body as needed for contour improvement, including, but not limited to, the abdomen, buttocks, chin, hips, and thighs. This operation involves tiny puncture incisions in the skin for the introduction of narrow tubes used to aspirate the fat.

The operation may be performed either under general anesthesia or sedation, on an outpatient basis. Liposuction is often used in addition to other procedures such as abdominoplasty in order to improve the overall outcome. Not all areas of excess fat however are amenable to liposuction alone because liposuction does not remove excess or loose skin.

liposuction is not to be used in place of weight loss.

Depending on the site, you will wear a garment to help support the areas treated for 6 weeks. Drainage from the puncture incisions may drain up to 72 hours. There may or may not be bruising.
