Cervicoplasty (Neck Lift)

Excess fat and skin under the chin can create the appearance of a “double chin” or a “turkey gobbler neck.  This operation involves a small incision under the chin, removal of the wad of fat of the upper neck and suturing together the edges of the platysma muscles that cause the vertical bands that hang down, giving the neck a tighter, more contoured appearance.  In some cases, an extended cervicoplasty may be needed to tighten the loose, crepey skin of the neck by making incisions under and behind the ears as well.  A cervicoplasty is often performed in conjunction with a facelift for complete facial rejuvenation.
