Breast Reduction for Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)
Gynecomastia, the over-development of breast tissue in males, affects roughly 40 to 60 percent of men. A male breast reduction involves removal of fat, tissue, and sometimes skin, to create a flatter, firmer chest. Liposuction may be performed in conjunction with a male breast reduction, for additional contouring. This procedure is performed at Renaissance Plastic Surgery under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Patients will wear a compression vest for 6 weeks, and may also have drains.
