Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

Excess fat and loose Skin of the arms, often referred to as a “bat wing” deformity, may be a result of aging, genetics or fluctuations in weight.  A brachioplasty is designed to restore the contours of the upper arms by removing excess fat and loose skin, creating proportion between the upper arm and lower arm, and eliminating the “wobble” of the arm when moving.

At Renaissance Plastic Surgery, this operation is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis.  A brachioplasty involves an incision extending along the inner aspect of both arms from the elbow to the armpits; underlying tissue is then tightened and reshaped.  Drains will be in place for about a week, but no heavy bandages or restriction is needed.
